This project aims to reduce musculoskeletal harm to seasonal kiwifruit harvesters through the design of a low-tech assistive technology solution.
A significant part of the design process was lead by iterative prototyping and the incremental innovation of a functional prototype.
Knolling during the prototyping process; the functional prototype was designed to be able to be fully dismantled at any point in order to add, remove or upgrade its features.

A Kinder Harvest' is a project focused on improving the experiences and interactions of a worker harvesting kiwifruit on a New Zealand kiwifruit orchard. A user-centred solution has been designed to reduce musculoskeletal strain on workers by off-loading the weight of the fruit to an orchard trolley. This device provides assistance and relief in the three most strenuous parts of the job which are picking, transporting and depositing the fruit.
